Transformers 3 DC Parking Lot Gallery

Thanks to Allison, here are images of the Washington, DC parking lot that is essentially base camp for Transformers 3 production complete with make-up, costume trailers and so forth. It is located near the Old Convention Center Parking Lot on 9th Street, between New York Street and H Street. The crew, once again showing their friendliness to fans, allowed picture to be taken as long as didn't touch anything and treated the property with respect. Sadly the Wreckers remained in their trailers so no pics of them. I believe the pictures were taken before the Bumblebee car accident which is why get a look at all of them including a peak of 'Bee next to the Ferrari. Still Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Ironhide, the Decepticon Suburbans and more are on site.

Josh Duhamel On Set Pics

SpoilerTV has posted a few pictures of Josh Duhamel on a Transformers set. The what, when, where, etc are not specified but if I had to hazard a guess I would think the pictures are from June when he was shooting at Bethlehem Steel. Below are a few pictures and the full gallery is here. Thanks to Michael for the link.

Transformers 2 At White Sands Pictures

Thanks to an anonymous source, below are some images from Holloman Air Force Base, specifically White Sands, NM. The images show a bit of the Transformers 2 set at the site along with Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox in their character costumes. The exact nature of what was being shot is unknown. The pictures are smaller then normal due the the cell phone used to take them.

Another PhillyFilmGirl Joint

In celebration of her 100th youtube.com subscriber (hmm I should look into that), PhillyFilmGirl has posted another video of filming at "Paris, France", i.e. Chancellor Street area in Philadelphia, PA. The film shows preparation with a pole that represents an unknown Transformer as it does whatever it will be doing in the street.

While filming this, Michael Bay saw us and said "Im putting a robot on your house", to which I replied "Uhhh, yea, we kinda figured that out".

Optimus, Nest Vehicle Spotted

Nathan provided the below pictures, taken with a Blackberry, of Optimus Prime and a Nest vehicle as they sat on a trailer in Arizona. I assume the destination is Holloman Air Force Base and White Sands Missile Range in Alamogordo, NM which is the rumor on where Transformers 2 production is shooting next.

Thanks to Nathan for the pictures.

Update: Thomas A. reports " I did see Optimus Prime and that Hummer this afternoon around 12:15 pm going past White Sands Missile Range, NM heading towards Holloman AFB. I didnt get any pics I was driving in the opposite direction." So there you go, I guess we know where Transformers 2 is probably this weekend or the next.

New Shoreline Drive Explosion

A new explosion filmed on Shoreline Drive has been found by Ryan. I am not sure if the explosion is related in anyway to the previous three. The long explosion sounds like a chain of seven explosions occurring across the entire road. I can't really tell exactly what is going on nor if any Transformers are involved but it’s pretty cool looking. Thanks to Ryan for the find.

Chevy Volt Not A TF, GM Comments

It turns out that GM was a bit surprised when video and images of the Chevy Volt on the Transformers set, according to Edmund's Inside Line. The first images that proved the use of the car in Transformers 2 first appeared on this blog last week. This was shortly followed by videos (here and here) that showed the car being prepped and driven, something that General Motors has not even demonstrated for the general public.

The most important part, for Transformers fans at least, is the website reporting that the car is not an alt mode for any Transformer character in the movie.
Inside Line has learned the Volt was only filmed for a day or two, and that it's not going to be a Transformer. With such a short time on the set, the Volt is expected to appear in the movie very briefly, and not as a Decepticon or Autobot, so it will not have a Transformer nickname.
In regards to GM's reaction to the premature release of images regarding the car:
"It's obviously different from the original (2007 Chevrolet Volt concept)," said GM spokesman Rob Peterson in a phone conversation with Inside Line Friday morning. "But this is not the final version at this stage."

He added: "What you know you're not going to get is an Aztek," a reference to the Pontiac that was widely disparaged as one of the ugliest vehicles ever built.

Peterson confirmed that the Volt is "taking part in the Transformers 2 movie." He did not know the Volt's nickname in the movie and admitted that he was "caught off guard" by the video and the ensuing buzz. Peterson said he did not know such details as the name of the color of the car, which appears to be either a deep blue or purple, although he said it may have been "Photoshopped."

"I've never seen that vehicle and I've never seen that color," he said. "You can tell it caught me off guard. I didn't even realize it (the Volt) was out of the state of Michigan."

He did admit that the vehicle in the video was "representative of the production vehicle," which he said would be "revealed fairly soon." But Peterson would not give any more specifics about when and where the Volt would debut.
Edmunds also provided a few caveats to be aware of the model Transformers is using.
If Peterson says the movie Volt is not the final production car, it's likely that he's just choosing his words very carefully. The Volt's extra-large wheels and supersized badges, enlarged to gain the attention of the final movie audience, could be the only visual details that separate the movie Volt from the production version.

And like the Camaros from the original Transformers movie that were only built to look like the 2010 Camaro, the movie car could also be wearing the Volt's final body shell, but is actually a Chevy Cobalt or Malibu underneath the skin.

GM says what you see in the Transformers 2 video only hints at the design of the production version of the Chevrolet Volt, but the differences are likely to be negligible.
Obviously the car images and videos have not been photoshopped. More then likely the Volt was given a custom paint job specifically for the movie to enhance its visuals and make it distinct from the other cars. Personally, that purple/blue paint job is pretty sweet and GM should consider making it available for the model when it comes out.

As for whether its a TF alt mode, I don't know. It's too early to know either way at this point since its only been seen on one set, the Queensbay Bridge/Shoreline Drive, so far. If its not a Transformer, it seems that Chevy missed a chance to really promote the car considering that the movie will be coming out just a few months before the car is likely to start hitting dealerships.

New Angle On Tanker Explosion

We have seen the tanker aftermath, the tanker explosion from two different sides, how about from down the street, looking right at it? Thanks to Ryan and Fred for the link.

Update: It turns out that apparently the tanker explosion video is not the same as the ones linked to above. As the picture Ryan put together shows, apparently they are two seperate explosions. That makes me wonder if the video from Gettodeath is one of the two or a third explosion captured on video. I don't know the area enough to make a determination one way or the other.

Queensway Exploding Tanker Prop

DJ has provided the below pictures that show the tanker that was used in the explosion on the Queensway Bridge. Of note is the Chinese words on the car that verifies that Transformers remains in "Shanghai" for the explosion sequences that where shot at the location.

Thanks to DJ for the pictures.

HD Video of Queensway Explosion

There are multiple different shots and angles of the filming on Queensway Bridge that involves a big boom. Now from OneMoreNone via Movie Chronicles is a new angle in HD. This one shows the same explosion from the other side of the bridge and in pretty good close-up. Note that there is use of cusswords in the video so not entirely safe for work (or kids).

Autobots Roll Again and the Chevy Volt

As promised a few months ago, its now proven beyond any doubt that the Chevy Volt is in Transformers thanks to video from Modern Mythology (via Movie Chronicles). Previous pictures by Gettodeath of the blue and purple car looked close to the Volt but I wasn't sure. The close up video below now confirms it. I have to admit, the car in motion is pretty damn nice looking and Chevy should consider the coloring as standard for the line. The Volt may or may not be a Tranformer alt mode I find it hard to believe that Chevy has started a marketing campaign for a car not coming out until 2010 that there is not more to its role in the movie. Note the movie does autoplay, despite best efforts have not been able to disable that.

More Queensway Explosions on Video

To go along with Gettodeath's video at the Queensway Bridge are the three videos shot by FMD805. The first video is the Autobots on Shoreline Avenue as they film them driving down the road. The second video is a chase sequence involving Optimus Prime and the "Chinese" police. It shows three takes of pyrotechnics going off for unknown reason near the police as a camera car rigs goes through the middle of the explosion in the opposite direction. The third movie shows a larger explosion that has cars and debris flying into the air. Always fun to see things go BOOM!

Thanks to FMD805 for use of his videos.

Queensway Bridge Explosion Video, Pictures

Gettodeath, of the Autobots video, has struck again, this time with video and pictures of filming on the Queensway Bridge in Long Beach, CA yesterday.

The video shows filming in a highway portion as cars suddenly peal out of the way to probably avoid a CGI Transformer. After that it shows a massive looking explosion with debris flying everywhere. Pretty cool looking.

In addition he provided more pictures of vehicles including a blue Chevy Volt. In the third vehicle you can see what might be the same car (or just another prop car) as it crosses an intersection. The last picture is more of the aftermath of the explosion from the video.

Thanks to Gettodeath for the video and images.

Update: Removed reference to Volt being a prop car (as probably isn't) and also added below pictures which have been enhanced by Keith (thanks!) to better show off the vehicles details.

Autobots Waiting Pictures

Slash Film has posted the below pics that show the Autobot fleet as they wait for a call to arms. The pictures where shot by Ricky C who reports "Hey guys! I got some really great pictures from the Transformers 2 set in Long Beach. I tried to get more pictures of that grey car but it sped away before i could snap some good pictures. I was literally ten feet away from all of these. It was intense! Later on guys!" To see them in motion, just check out the video from Gettodeath here. Thanks to Melvin and Chris for the link.

Autobots, Roll Out

Gettodeath strikes again, this time with a very good video of the Autobot fleet as they drive by. I believe the footage was shot in the Queensbay Bridge area in Long Beach California. The shots show Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Bumblebee, the Chevy Beat, Trax, and the concept Corvette Centennial. I do believe this is the first time all of them have been seen together like this and its the first time the public has a view of the corvette in motion. The usual what, why, and so forth remains a mystery but very cool to see all the Transformer cars together.

Thanks to Gettodeath for the video.

Long Beach Explosion Video

From The Movie Chronicles is the below video of an explosion filmed for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen near the Queensway Bridge in Long Beach, CA. It was captured on a phone camera so the quality isn't the best but it still catches the entire explosion that looks pretty darn good.

Pictures from Queensway Bridge

The Movie Chronicles website scored the below pictures from mylordsinuhe and fg9 that show some of the vehicles and set for the Transformers 2 shoot at Queensway Bridge in Long Beach, CA. Most of the pictures show Optimus Prime and Chinese signs to dress the area as part of Shanghai, China. As for the backend of the car in the first pic, that is the Chevy Corvette concept car that is currently rumored to be the Corvette Centennial.

Ranger565 posted a brief report of what he saw when he visited the area.
OK Well I work in the area and they have the whole area set up to be China, as you guys know. Now I did see Prime, Bumblebee, the silver corvette, 2 blue cars (small) and Ironhide. All were parked on the back lot behind Catalina Landing!

The scene I witnessed was a traffic scene where they were driving down Shoreline Drive and then 2 flatbed Trucks merge into traffic. THEN BOOOM!!! One of the two trucks blew in half.

NOTE: The Autobots were not in the blow up scene. That’s it the stunt guys got out the cars and the Helicopter flew off. But man that truck blue the trailer hitch right off. Then I heard that it may not have gone according to plan. Both trucks were [supposed] to blow up.

More Burnt But Clothed Shia Pics

INF Daily has more pictures of a burned Shia LaBeouf on the Transformers 2 set. The previous set showed him shirtless, this shows him with the equally trashed shirt on. Over all it continues to reinforce the notion that Sam Witwicky is going to get kicked around something fierce in this movie. Thanks to AshMD13 for the link.
